Record the mechanism and chewing change
Record chewing a hard object, fall, play impact or bite and note dropping food, one-sided chewing, bleeding, swelling, touch pain or swallowing trouble. A short video is safer than forcing the mouth open.

Offer water and easy-to-chew food if advised, remove bones, hard chews and tug toys, and do not use alcohol, peroxide, human gels or pain medicines.

Emergency care for inability to swallow, persistent bleeding or facial swelling
Immediate care is needed for affected breathing, persistent bleeding, rapidly swelling face, major tongue/jaw injury, collapse or inability to drink.
